Tractor Supply Company (TSCO) stores offer products for both farm and home. From agriculture, livestock, equine and pet care to lawn and garden and home improvement, Tractor Supply Company has it all.
The first Tractor Supply Company first opened in 1938 as a mail order tractor parts business. It wasn’t until 1939 that the first store was opened in Minot, North Dakota. The company is headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville.
In 2004, Fortune magazine named Tractor Supply Company one of the 100 fastest growing businesses. At that time, the company had revenues of more than US$1.7billion.
October 10, 2013, was the 75th anniversary of Tractor Supply Company. The occasion was celebrated when the company rang the opening bell at the Nasdaq stock exchange in New York.
Today, there are 1,950 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states.
The company’s 1,900th store opened in September 2020.

In 2020, 47 percent of the company’s sales were related to livestock and pet products; 21 percent of sales were in the hardware, tools, truck and towing category of products; seasonal products such as lawn and garden equipment, gifts and toys were 21 percent of sales.
In September 2016, Tractor Supply Company acquired Petsense, LLC, a specialty retailer of pet supplies.
