Thank you, Kirk Perron!
Kirk Perron, a student at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, had a “senior project” to do. As an avid cyclist and an advocate of healthy living, a good diet was important to him. Well, put all this together and you get Jamba Juice.

Jamba Juice was founded on March 31, 1990, by Perron, who opened his first store in San Luis Obispo, California. His friends, Kevin Peters, Joe Vergara, and Linda Ozawa Olds, joined him in the business that same year.

In 2001, Jamba Juice acquired Zuka Juice, Inc. stores.

In 2006, Jamba Juice was sold to Services Acquisition Corp. International for $265 million. Once the transaction was closed, the company changed the name of the chain to Jamba, Inc.

In June 2006, Jamba, Inc. announced that it had completed a $35 million convertible preferred stock transaction.

Partnering with Nestlé
In December 2008, in a partnership with Jamba, Inc., Nestlé began selling healthy, ready-to-drink beverages under the Jamba brand name. Unfortunately, in December 2008, Nestle USA and Jamba Juice suspended the Jamba ready-to-drink products because of problems maintaining a consistent stock.

In 2014 Jamba Juice launched its expanded Fresh Juice menu to include ingredients such as kale, beets and ginger.

In December 2008, Jamba broadened its menu to include wraps, sandwiches, salads and flatbreads to go along with their smoothies and juices.

In May 2016, the Jamba Juice corporate headquarters moved from Emeryville, California to Frisco, Texas, where the cost of living and conducting business was lower.

In September 2018, Jamba Juice was acquired by Focus Brands, an Atlanta-based company.

The company has over 850 locations operating in 36 U.S. states, as well as the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia.
