Forever 21 has 400 retail store locations in the United States

Headquartered in Los Angeles, California. FOREVER 21 started out as Fashion 21 in April 1984. The first shop, located in Highland Park Los Angeles, was a mere 900 square feet.

The store was founded by husband and wife, Do Won Chang and Jin Sook Chang from South Korea. Their first store in Highland Park continues to operate to this day bearing the chain’s original name of Fashion 21.

Fashion 21’s design styles were similar to those seen in South Korea and were targeted at the Korean American community in Los Angeles.

Originally, FOREVER 21 sold only women’s fashions but later expanded their stock to include menswear. Today, most FOREVER 21 stores sell clothes for women, men and children, including plus-size clothing for women. The FOREVER 21 website includes clothing for girls as well as home and lifestyle products.

In its first year in operation, FOREVER 21 sales totaled $700K and by 2013, its revenue had increased to $3.7 billion from its more than 480 stores. By 2015 FOREVER 21’s global sales had reached $4.4 billion.

FOREVER 21 offers stylish and up-to-the-minute fashions at very low price points. When you’re shopping at FOREVER 21, check out the accessories, beauty products, home goods and fashions for women, men and children.

In 2020, Forever 21 sold all of its assets for $81 million to a consortium of mall operators Simon Property Group and Brookfield Properties, and brand management firm Authentic Brands Group (ABG). Following the purchase, ABG expanded Forever 21 in Latin America via licensing deals. In June 2020, ABG appointed IB Group as Forever 21’s licensee in Mexico, and in October, it signed a licensing deal with AR Holdings to launch the brand in nine Latin American countries.

FOREVER 21 has four fashion lines: Forever 21, XXI Forever, Love 21 and Heritage. The company has over 700 stores in the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and the UK.
