Pet Supplies Plus is a privately held pet supply retailing corporation with a major presence in the United States.
America’s Favourite Pet Store
In 1988, the late Jack Berry and Harry Shallop founded Pet Supplies Plus in Redford, Michigan. By 1989, the company began franchising, and over the next six years, the chain grew to include 100 locations. Today, there are 730 Pet Supplies Plus locations in 36 states. Not only was it successful, but it’s also known as America’s favourite pet store.

Pet Supplies Plus is a privately held pet supply retailing corporation which, as of 2005, was the third largest specialty pet food retailer in the US.
Pet Supplies Plus has in-house pet food brands such as Redford Naturals.
In December 2018, Sebtubek Capital Partners acquired Pet Supplies Plus.
On March 10, 2021, the Franchise Group, Inc. acquired Pet Supplies Plus.

Pet Supplies Plus franchisees pay the company a fee for owning and operating stores. Given the large market opportunity, even in times of recession, pet supply stores fare well as pet owners continue to care for their pets. During the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, more pets found permanent homes as people were bound to their houses and had the time to care for and train pets.
